Nitnem is a compound word. ‘Nit’ means daily, regularly. ‘Nem’ is the Punjabi form of ‘Neeam’ meaning law, rule or practice. ‘Nitnem’ thus means ‘daily practice’ or ‘daily discipline’. It is a collection of the selected portions of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib for daily recitation and remembrance. The verses have been so chosen as to act as a guide of how a seeker is to conduct himself in life.
This course on Nitnem with Acharya Prashant brings to light the significance of the Mul-Mantra and delves deep into selected verses from the Japu ji Sahib. Japu Ji Sahib is a hymn composed by Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru. ""Japu"" means, “recite.” It is the most riveting prayer.
