What is Prarabdha ?

Prarabdha refers to the sum total of (apparent)movements in time and space that have resulted in the (apparent) formation of the jiva – the human being, or any other being.Everything that the being appears to be is prarabdha . And prarabdha is all past.

So,– having 5 fingers is prarabdha .– having human form is *praradha.*– being born male is prarabdha .– being born in a certain time and a place is *prarabdha.*– day-to-day circumstances are prarabdha .

Prarabdha is a result of time. So, it is as powerful as time, and it is also as illusory as time. One can spend his entire life just suffering his prarabdha, or one can be freed from prarabdha in a moment.

What does freedom from prarabdha mean?

Because prarabdha is (apparent) past, so freedom from prarabdha means freedom from past. That happens when one gets firmly seated at that point which time does not touch. Then there is the dance of prarabdha all around you, and you enjoy it, but it does not touch you.
